Here are the next steps needed once you've built your Docker image. It will save waiting for the build to complete. Here's my image if you want to skip ahead and pull it: docker pull alexellisio/zcash:latest. There doesn't appear to be individual secrets or user config in the steps above. It would reduce your build-to-run time from 30-90mins down to the download time. I would suggest that the Zcash team think about pushing this image to the Docker Hub. bin/sh -c apt-get update -q & apt-get -qy i 433 MB bin/sh -c #(nop) WORKDIR /root/zcash/ 0 B Here's a summary of the layers created: CREATED BY SIZE The resulting image had a size of around 4GB, but bare in mind that this also includes the Ubuntu base image in its size.

This Dockerfile enables the app for work on Windows, Mac, other Linux distro and will be just as at home on a cloud instance or on your laptop. Well I put a quick one together based upon the official instructions: I started to wonder why there was no Dockerfile?

I wanted to try the code but it turns out you have to build the code for yourself - from scratch that you need Ubuntu or Debian on your system. Automate all the things with a Dockerfile

Zcash is unfinished and highly experimental. If you're interested in making a profit from mining crypto-currencies with CPU/GPU then checkout my new project: mine-with-docker and start earning Bitcoin today. Based on Bitcoin's code, it intends to offer a far higher standard of privacy and anonymity through a sophisticated zero-knowledge proving scheme that preserves confidentiality of transaction metadata. Zcash is an implementation of the "Zerocash" protocol. Have you heard of Zcash yet? Here's a quick introduction.
